My boyfriend and I purchased this microphone for our canon rebel t5i camera, so we could film and record his reggae band perform live. I was worried that the microphone would capture the audience more than the music.. I filmed his show and we watched it and listened to the quality the next day and the microphone did great it captured the music really well. The background noise was minimum. The only time i could hear the audience more was when the music wasn’t playing but when the music is playing it definitely captured each instrument very well. It’s so nice having an external microphone because it doesn’t capture the noise when you zoom the lense! The microphone also does well in solo acoustic settings you to just have to adjust the settings to the environment you’re in.

I love the mic and range of sound recording cello and piano in a hall. Unfortunately one channel stopped working after a few hours of recording. A replacement came quickly and initially worked well.Now I have lost the left mic on the replacement after a few more hours of recording so unfortunately cannot recommend.

This is a well build mic. I have dropped this mic and it did not break. The sound is outstanding. This mic is NOT for dialogue, this is to get ambient sound and it reproduces the sound as if you were there. It is worth the price if you do videography work. It will give you an edge on your event videos and B rolls.

Mic feels solidBut cold shoe should have include some sort of pin lock on to the camera’s hot shoe.Too easy to shake the mic off the DSLR’s hot shoe,because of the mic’s weight
